“I love old barns, no longer in need,
Where many a horse and many a cow have taken their feed,
But to the owner I really must pray:
Please do not let it rot and tumble away.”
– From Old Barns by Roy Kieling.
While my home county is a place of ancient Neolithic sites, Medieval castles and monasteries, historic houses, watermills and churches, and sagging barns and farmsteads nestling comfortably into the rich red earth, I am also drawn to the architecture of Italy, Spain and Portugal.
